Styne:

So, Even Deyemi, birth name or stage name?.

Deyemi:

Birth name: Adeyemi Michael Ajibade

Stage name: Deyemi

Styne:

You have three names like I do, one thing in common so far.

Deyemi:

Lol, nice.

Styne:

So where exactly do you hail from Deyemi?

Deyemi:

Hometown: Oyo state in Nigeria. Residence : Lagos state Nigeria

Styne:

A capital guy huh?, What’s Lagos like?, Never been.

Deyemi:

Lagos is just what you call the home of hustlers. It’s a nice and chilled place also but you have to have money, if you know what I mean. But in general Lagos is a beautiful place really.

Styne:

I’ll make it a point to visit.

Deyemi:

That’s nice, you’d enjoy your stay.

Styne:

So what genre do you major in?.

Deyemi:

Really I don’t what to be that stereotype kinda guy, I don’t want to say I do basically one kinda sound but I’ll say Afro pop. But in general I can do a RnB, Trap, all sorta. But let’s just go with Afro pop.

Styne:

I’m personally an EDM/Dubstep/Future Bass guy, but I find Afro Pop more than enjoyable. It’s our sound as Africans.

Deyemi:

Yes exactly, you get me.

Styne:

So for you, music is all about passion or there is some freaky story behind it?.

Deyemi:

Music is my way of preaching love to the world because that’s all we need to build and grow as a community and as human being so music is my way of showing love to the world and my way to heal hearts. I had the dream and I believe it’s my destiny. I hope I’m not sounding too crazy though.

Styne:

I like your insight, you realized ignorance is man’s greatest plight and sort out to solving it with knowledge dressed up in the way they’d enjoy. You are a genius.

Deyemi:

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate.

Styne:

Any particular person whom you look up to in this business?, A role model?

Deyemi:

Well a lot actually, in Africa? Nigeria? Or worldwide, which exactly?

Styne:

Could be anywhere or anyone, from XXXtantation to your Mom.

Deyemi:

Or like that, that will be my mum then. You said it already. She is my greatest inspiration, my role model.

Styne:

I’m sure she’d be glowing were she to read this, I’m sure she will.

Deyemi:

I hope so.

Styne:

While we’re still on the topic, care to share a little about your family?.

Deyemi:

What exactly do you want to know?

Styne:

What’s your relationship to your siblings like?, Total chaos Boondocks style?

Deyemi:

Nah! We actually very good. I’m 2nd born amongst 4 siblings. We all understand that we came from humble beginnings so we share the little we have with each other. Let’s say we love each other a lot.

Styne:

A rare find, I’m used to having a boot in my face.

Deyemi:

lol.

Styne:

How does your past affect your sound, I’m sure you’ve thought about it at some point. How it would have been different under different circumstances.

Deyemi:

Really I’m still the same me. Nothing changed. I’ve always wanted to do this but I felt I wasn’t ready. So after getting my degree I decided to just pursue my dream.

Styne:

Oh, which degree is that?

Deyemi:

Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Styne:

EEE is mind numbing, I’m gaining respect. You are no push over.

Deyemi:

Lol please, I am a humble fellow oo

Styne:

Hahaha, didn’t mean to put you on the spot there, forgive a brother.

Even Deyemi: Lol

Styne:

So where do you see yourself in ten years?

Deyemi:

Still creating my craft, making people happy. Like I said all I’m tryna preach to the world is love, so as long as I still live love won’t die. And I see my self financially satisfied.

Styne:

And the world, what do you say about the way it is now?. Any personal philosophies?

Deyemi:

Yeah the world now is full of greed, hate! Just like how God said it will in the book of revelation. We are crumbling all because we don’t just give love a chance in our hearts.

So what the world needs to heal and what will help us to start building I mean where the privileged ones can help the less privileged and we all can live together in harmony is Love, because we all need each other even if we wanna deny it.
The rich can’t do anything without the poor helping and the poor can’t eat without the rich helping. As my saying goes; Poverty is a state of mind!.

Styne:

You know, at this rate, I think you’ve already answered the tenth question, lol.

Even Deyemi: Lol

Styne:

But I find your notions totally agreeable.

Deyemi:

Thank you.

Styne:

Well, we’ll stay in touch for more updates from you. Thank you for your time Even Deyemi. This interview was most enjoyable.

Deyemi:

Thank you brother, anytime.
