Ghanaian rapper, Shatta Wale has been arrested by the Ghana police service.
He was arrested for playing a prank that he had been shot by unknown gunmen. Recall that Shatta Wale’s PA took to Instagram to inform the World that Shatta Wale was shot by unknown gunmen. According to her, the gunmen are on the run and Shatta Wale is in critical condition. She pleaded with social media users to pray for Shatta Wale #prayforshattawale.
This morning, photos of Shatta Wale in Police custody was shared by The Ghana Police Service. The photos were accompanied by a police statement.
The statement reads:
“The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October 2021, at 8.59 pm.
He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.
As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted”.
