The Ministry of Education has announced that school term will resume on April 27, universities will open on May 2nd and parents will not pay extra fees.
On 18 March, President Museveni ordered for the closure of schools across the country in attempt to prevent the spread of corona virus.
Education Minister Mrs. Janet Museveni said that the ministry has drafted a calender for opening dates for schools.
“If all goes according to plan, Term one will open on April 27 2020 to June 12, 2020” she said.
She added that term two would open on June 22 to September 4, while term three will begin on 21 September and close on December 19.
University will resume on May 02, 2020.
All holidays are to be shortened in order to catch up with the syllabus.
Mrs. Museveni also clarified that additional fees should not be charged when Term one resumes.
If the pandemic extends, Mrs. Museveni said the ministry will draft another calender.
