It is general knowledge that Olamide popular referred to as Badoo on the streets is the owner of the Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) record label. It is under this same record label that the likes of Lil Kesh, Lyta, Picazo, Yomi blaze, Limerick and so on have emerged. None of these acts ever got any international recognition.
The most recent sensation however is the YBNL act with current album that’s been bursting airwaves and topping charts, none other than Fireboy.
With the amount of recognition that Fireboy has amassed overtime, the YBNL platform has surely been of great impact and value to the fast rising act.thanks
Irrespective of the fame and recognition, Fireboy doesn’t seem to be recognized internationally which isn’t quite surprising based on the fact that his boss and mentor, Olamide Badoo has largely stuck to local boundaries and doesn’t seem keen on growing his brand internationally.
It is the same Badoo influence that is hindering Fireboy from getting international recognition.
Take a look at Rema under the Mavin record label. He’s not only got local recognition but is bursting the airwaves in the international music scene also so much so that comparison are being made likening him to Starboy Wizkid.
It is my firm believe that as long as Fireboy remain under the YBNL act, it is very unlikely that he would attain international recognition.
