Ajiyon Elizabeth – Sioni (Zion)

Published

on

The inspiration of this composition, “Zion” came from the general song sang in Yoruba language known by the majority which is rooted in the scripture. “Sioni o ilu ayo Jerusalem ilu ogo, afigbati ojumi bari o, nkoje gbagbe gbogbo iya ti moje.

I improvised and compose the song in 2016 when I was in school while playing my guitar in my room. At that time I was facing alot of challenges and I felt alone is this world then the world of God came to me and ministered to me that I’m a daughter of Zion so therefore I should not be afraid and worry about worldly things instead I should fix my eyes to the things of heaven.

Whatever the challenges we are facing in life, I want you to know that God is trusting us with it and he won’t give to us the burden we cannot carry and he cares for us. Let’s fix our eyes to the things of heaven, the beautiful city made of gold in and out, the new Jerusalem where there will be no sorrow or sadness, no affliction or temptation, no hatred or pain, no racism or tribalism, no weeping or crying, no day or night. only joy everlasting with our saviour shining his glory on us forever. Zion is our home so therefore don’t let little burdens led us astray.
